As our global network of 16,000 members expands, partnerships between various regions are becoming an integral part of our development. On Tuesday, November 28th, our globally connected community will bring yet another intercontinental event series to life through the #GivingTuesday Mash-Up. In previous years, thematic focuses for Mash-Ups have included creating sustainable cities, impact investing as well as alleviating poverty and hunger. This year’s #GivingTuesday Mash-Up, which for the first time will include Impact Hubs in Africa, will be centered around Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)17: Partnerships for the goals.
The Mash-Up is a dialogue event which transcends borders and promotes a collaborative effort to solve the world’s biggest challenges. Impact Hubs discuss themes relevant to their local context before tuning in to the keynote speech, which is live streamed at all participating locations. The keynote speech is followed by a Q&A session where the global audience is encouraged to openly share their comments and questions with the speaker.
Our keynote speaker for the #GivingTuesday Mash-Up is Chrysula Winegar. Chrysula is Senior Director, Communications & Special Initiatives at the United Nations Foundation, and leads the Global Moms Challenge. Chrysula has worked with various organisations helping formulate community engagement and digital strategy initiatives. The topic of Chrysula’s keynote speech will be Partnerships for a Planet: It takes all of us. During the keynote, she will dive into a discussion around the types of partnerships at play with regard to the delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals – from big companies formally working with the United Nations, to global digital communities which frequently hack SDG solutions. The keynote will be delivered in front of a live audience at Impact Hub New York City. Impact Hubs participating across North America, Europe and Africa will be able to live stream the speech via our Impact Hub global Facebook page.
You can tune in to the live keynote on Tuesday, November 28th at 1pm EST (North America), 7pm CET (Europe), 8pm CAT (Africa).
