Rethinking Inclusion
The way that migrant inclusion is experienced and addressed today will contribute to shape the Europe of tomorrow. Crucial to this experience is the sense of belonging and mutual understanding within the society. The European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM) has partnered with Impact Hub to identify promising initiatives, learn from them and help rethink migrant inclusion from a whole-of-society perspective.
“Rethinking Inclusion” is the new initiative created by EPIM with the support of Impact Hub to unlock the potential and the capacities of solution implementers to learn from, scale-up, transfer, adapt and measure the social impact of promising bottom-up and whole-of-society solutions that foster migrant inclusion and social cohesion, to eventually inform European inclusion policies, funding and practices.
Be the solution
With this call for expressions of interest, EPIM aims to identify socially innovative solutions (e.g. project, process, service, practice) located in an EU, EFTA or Western Balkan country that address inclusion challenges that concern young migrant men (18-35 years old) and migrant women.
Applications are now open! So if you have a solution that can help make Europe a more inclusive place, you can apply now to be one of up to 20 shortlisted solutions selected to participate in a case study analysis. This process will allow social impact experts to take a closer look at the essence and impact of your solution, as well as its possible scaling opportunities.
How will it work?
The 20 shortlisted solutions will be matched with stakeholders interested in adapting the solution in Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Portugal or Sweden. The 8 proposals that best fit the local context needs will then be awarded with capacity support grants to prepare for scaling.
Hosted by Socialchallenges.eu, “Rethinking Inclusion” is here to help civil society organizations to amplify their promising whole-of-society solutions.
Here’s how it works:
- With your most innovative approach to migrant inclusion, you apply to be shortlisted
- If your idea is one of the top solutions, it will be shortlisted, analysed and you will be paired with interested stakeholders.
- In preparation for scaling, EPIM will help you to develop your proposal for capacity support.
- The best teams will be awarded grants of up to €30,000 to prepare for scaling.
All applicants, including those who are not selected, will also receive a set of useful resources to increase their knowledge and capacity to scale their projects. Every eligible solution will in turn be featured on the Social Challenges Platform, and will also be included in an internal mapping of initiatives that gives them visibility to a group of funders.
So what’s next?
Apply! You can submit your application from July 16th until the deadline of September 15th 2018, 23:59 CET.
Applicants submitting by July 31st will receive first feedback and will have their eligibility checked. These early applicants will then have the unique opportunity to improve their application based on the feedback, until the final deadline of September 15th 2018.
So without further ado, we invite you to help us rethink inclusion now!
